ECLECTIC + BOHO STYLED SHOOT @ THE BACKALLEY

Wedding Photography

The concept for this styled shoot began when I was thrifting at my local thrift store hotspot and I bumped into Chloe, owner of Bloom Rentals. I was so excited to see a long time client of mine and Chloe mentioned the idea of a styled shoot for her event rental business. As an editorial wedding photographer who loves any chance to get creative and work with other talented businesses, I couldn’t pass this opportunity up.

Chloe has a passion for unique items and has been incorporating them in her own home for years. Bloom Rentals was born when she decided to share her love for decorating and style with others. Her unique collection of new and vintage pieces that have been purposefully collected overtime, became the inspiration for this styled shoot.

Scrolling through Pinterest, Chloe comes across dried oranges and this sparks the concept for our styled shoot. She runs out to buy a dehydrator and oranges, then gets to work. From there, our vision falls right into place.

For this styled shoot we choose to use all vendors from Butler, PA and surrounding areas, highlighting local hidden gems, and capitalizing on each businesses’ unique offerings.

Chloe collaborates with Wedding and Event Planner, Tiffany and Design to plan this Eclectic, Boho styled shoot. Tiffany and Chloe meet Danielle from Nosh and Curd at a bridal show in the Winter of 2022 and the two know they have to incorporate her charcuterie.

With a Pinterest mood board in mind and vendors who love the idea, Chloe and Tiffany decide it is time to make this styled shoot official. The two set an early Spring date and find the most unique venue to fit our overall aesthetic, recruiting The BackAlley.

The BackAlley opened in 2019 and represents change made throughout the last seven decades as a family owned Bowling Alley business in Butler, PA. Highlighting the bowling history, details from the bowling lanes that once filled the space now construct this award winning event venue. From the unique floor displaying the original lanes, the moving pin deck and bowling pin light fixtures, this one-of-a-kind venue offers an industrial space for weddings and events to be held.

Jeff Double, owner of All About Reclaimed and seasoned florist in Butler, PA, knows exactly what look we are going for. Using creamy neutrals and rust tones, the florals turn out more beautiful than any of us could imagine. All About Reclaimed has a long-standing relationship with Chloe and myself, as Jeff provided the florals for Chloe’s wedding back in 2016, as well as my first styled shoot that same year.

DI Bridal has a wide variety of bridal dresses for us to choose from. We select two contrasting dresses for the models’ different styles, mid century modern and bohemian.

Emigh Jewelry Company is a family owned business that offers the most amazing customer service. They lend us the statement engagement ring and wedding bands seen in our styled shoot.

PICKSburgh Vintage Collectibles provide the vintage furniture that gives our mock ceremony something extra eye-catching and creative.

Kaity, fiber artist and owner of Knotty Mama Studios handcrafts the most beautiful macrame hanging, paired with Bloom Rentals’ copper backdrop and colorful accent rugs. It truly makes the entire background come to life.

When searching for our brides-to-be, Jewel and Casey are the first to come to mind. Jewel, is not only a stunning model but also the talented hairstylist and makeup artist behind the scenes of this styled shoot. She goes for a mid-century modern, bridal hairstyle for herself to compliment her sleek dress. Casey, our other stunning bride, is Jewel’s best friend. She wears a bridal dress with a bohemian feel. Jewel decides to incorporate boho elements tying Casey’s hairstyle back in with the dress she wears as well.

Throughout the shoot, I pose our brides in a high fashion, editorial manner inspired by the latest Vogue trends, mixing in candid style portraits. The two friends are seen modeling the eclectic bridal dresses, rings, and rentals together.
